Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care to our patients. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take dental X-rays
- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order as needed
- Follow proper infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe working environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program preferred
- Experience working in a dental office setting is a plus
- Knowledge of medical documentation and HIPAA regulations
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is desirable
- Proficient in taking dental X-rays and using medical imaging systems
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with patients of all ages
- Knowledge of medical terminology and dental procedures
- Experience with Epic or other electronic health record systems is a plus
