RadNet is Hiring a Nuclear Technician Near Kew Gardens, NY

We invite you to come join our Valley Metabolic Advanced Imaging Center team as a Nuclear Medicine & PET Technologist. This full-time career opportunity has a variable Monday thru Friday 7:30am - 4pm schedule, and is located at our multi-modality outpatient imaging practice in Fresno, CA. Our center provides a wide range of diagnostic imaging services to patients in a friendly and comfortable environment. As a Nuclear Medicine & PET Technologist you'll:

  • Perform high quality nuclear medicine and positron emission tomography exams on incoming patients.
  • Assure proper doses and radionuclides are ordered for each day.
  • Follow established nuclear medicine protocols and procedures.
  • Perform and document surveys and wipe tests of incoming and outgoing radioactive shipments in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Maintain a nuclear medicine information system for all patient dosing, calibration, receiving and disposition, and all regulatory reports required by the RAM license.
  • Assay dose so that the radionuclide is correct and matches procedure.
  • Start IV lines or perform straight stick venipuncture for isotope injection.
  • Administer radionuclide in a safe and effective manner.
  • Monitor patient's well being during exams; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action.
  • Guide patients through this sometimes difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps. and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process.
  • Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients.
  • Participate in projects and/or meetings, and complete other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

We're looking for an experienced and professional Nuclear Medicine Technologist who is able to independently perform all outpatient nuclear medicine and PET exams and procedures with high quality results. Applicants must have ARRT(N) certification (or NMTCB certification), CA State License in nuclear medicine (ALL SCOPES DEFINED IN SECTION 30533, PLUS VENIPUNCTURE), BLS or ACLS certification, recent nuclear medicine and PET experience, and great communication skills!
