RadNet is Hiring a Breast Specialty Scheduler Near Bethesda, MD

Shift: M-F 8-4:30 ; Pay Range: $17.05 - $22.50 / hour

The Specialty Scheduler is responsible for scheduling, rescheduling and canceling exams for patients. The Specialty Scheduler is responsible for scheduling complex procedures classified as Specialty Procedures; specific but not limited to breast biopsy procedures. This role will require performing pre-registration, faxes and scans documents, handling pathology reports, communicating preparation for exams, may act as a liaison between radiologists and referring physicians, handles customer service-related requests, and performs various other clerical tasks.

Shift:Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Display excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • Place outgoing calls to schedule patient exams when receiving scripts and electronic orders.
  • Answer incoming and place outgoing calls in a courteous and professional manner—identifies self an company.
  • Handle VIP Physician scheduling requests through phone call, and/or chat.
  • Place calls to referring physicians for patients expressing difficulty with scheduling.
  • Maintain self-control when dealing with difficult patients and or situations. Show care and compassion for all callers.
  • Maintain good rapport with referring physicians, administrative assistants and clinical site staff.
  • Enter accurate information in RIS for appointment scheduling, rescheduling, cancellation and comment entry.
  • Update account information at the point of scheduling.
  • Properly schedule all procedures.
  • Utilize RIS filter screens to answer questions associated with insurance, procedures and preps.
  • Communicate and interact with all departments effectively and professionally.
  • Maintain professionalism with both internal and external customers.
  • Pre-register, fax reports, scan documents, input clinical data as needed for appointment and request films as needed.
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, location and training. This pay scale is not a guarantee of a particular wage

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience

  • One year of related medical experience coordinating medical exam, surgeries, and/or biopsies.

  • Must be able to type fluently while speaking with callers.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance plans.
  • Ability to pre-register and schedule patients rapidly and accurately.
  • General knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.
  • Provides clear written and verbal communication.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and be organized.
