The client has a current goal for every community to effectively use a World-Class Data System to improve student outcomes. This goal has an outcome to increase the availability of quality data to drive decisions that improve student outcomes. We are planning to satisfy this goal in part by modernizing our current student information system along with improving the quality of data in connected systems.

The Mississippi Department of Education is seeking an Application Developer to take the lead in the following tasks:

• Take leadership in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications.

• Create and maintain applications, work closely with application developers, and ensure there is proper written documentation of all requirement coding and business rule coding.

• Maintain and ensure compliance with all software development standards.

• Provide production support and implement changes to source systems code.

• Mentor and support skills development of the application development team.

• Interact with Scrum Master, OTSS team leads, product owners and high-level business users.

• Bachelor’s degree

• Experience creating applications using .Net, React, Git, Azure, and Azure DevOps Pipelines.

• Experience working in Agile Projects.

• Experience in education data systems and environments is a plus.
