Position: QA Manager
Location: Remote - Bismark, ND.
Contract Term: 8 months
Hours / Week: 40
Job Description
Work for this role involves the application of quality assurance principles, methodologies, standards, and best practices in all phases of information technology projects. This role is responsible for performing quality assurance management duties on large, complex projects for JSND using established best practices, tools and guidelines. Duties include analyzing the requirements, planning tests, designing tests, executing tests, reporting defects, re-testing, and regression testing, running release tests, monitoring, reporting; and the coordination of people, processes and technologies as needed to ensure the product meets quality standards. Projects may range in structure from traditional/waterfall, to various agile/hybrid frameworks. Effective communication skills and ability to build and maintain solid working relationships with staff, agency executives, consultants, and other stakeholders is essential for project success. Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Providing leadership to and management of testing teams
• Arranging and facilitating meetings (e.g., testing status update)
• Coordinating the efforts of internal project staff, customers and vendors as it relates to the quality assurance work
• Developing, updating, and publishing quality assurance plans and artifacts (e.g., Test Plan, Test Evaluation Summary, Issues/Bug List, and Quality Assurance Change Requests)
• Manage the appropriate testing framework to meet the testing requirements for each release
• Maintain appropriate quality assurance measures and metrics
• Maintaining and utilizing team and document collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, MS Teams)
• Creating time estimates with the help of the project team members
• Ensure timely delivery of testing milestones
• Identifying and resolving conflicts as needed
• Recommend automated testing tools
• Assist with testing when needed
Required Skills / Experience
• Experience managing quality assurance for information technology projects of at least $3 million in budget.
• Experience with Agile or hybrid agile methodologies
• Experience with the entire lifecycle process (start to finish) of quality management
• Must work within the United States
• Effective written and oral communication skills and ability to build and maintain solid working relationships
• Demonstrated ability to develop processes and document them in an understandable manner.
• Background and experience to include conducting quality assurance on projects related to unemployment insurance systems.
• Experience managing quality assurance for very large projects with multiple stakeholder groups (budget of $10 million or >)
