Position Purpose:

To facilitate instruction with hands-on, inquiry based learning in academic, recreational, and social emotional programming.

Qualifications:

Ability to provide instruction with multi-age groups using the curriculum provided. Create a positive learning environment and manage student behavior.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Ability to monitor student achievement and help students to improve knowledge.

2. Effective communication skills to communicate student’s needs to the Program Coordinator.

3. Ability to flex teaching methodologies based the needs of students.

4. Be a positive role model and build relationships with students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Create a learning environment where students feel valued and engaged.

2. Effectively manage small groups of students.

3. Use differentiated instruction to provide appropriate and meaning activities to all children.

4. Demonstrate consistent organization and preparation to ensure activities go smoothly.

5. Attend and participate in all professional development and workshops as required.

6. Communicate daily with Park & Rec staff and the program coordinator.

Applicant selected must be available for all trainings. June 18th (PD/Planning 10am-4pm)
