Job Title: Controller

Overview: As a Controller, you will play a pivotal role in the financial operations of the business. You will be responsible for compiling and maintaining accurate financial records and reports, cash flow planning and budgeting, and assisting with various financial tasks, which all will provide valuable insight to aid strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and analytical skills, prioritize accuracy and efficiency, and possess a strong understanding of finance and accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Record Keeping and Data Entry:

• Maintain complete and accurate financial records, including but not limited to, invoices, receipts, payments, and expenses.

• Enter financial transactions into the accounting software system with precision and attention to detail.

2. Accounting & Reporting:

• Responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.

• Perform monthly reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data and identify/resolve any discrepancies or errors.

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate.

3. Financial Planning and Analysis:

• Analyze financial data and performance, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

• Establish and maintain internal procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency throughout the financial processes.

• Assist with the development and implementation of financial strategies and plans.

4. Administrative Support:

• Provide administrative support as needed, including filing, copying, and scanning documents.

• Assist with various projects and tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 3 years of experience with a proven track record of success and exposure to small business financial matters.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.

• Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and practices.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work individually or collaboratively.

• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
