Overview
QPWB, a national law firm, has an immediate opening for a Subpoena Clerk for our Worker’s Compensation group in Chicago. This is a full-time, hybrid position, competitive salary and benefits package offered.Summary:The Subpoena Clerk performs a variety of duties with limited supervision. The functions to be performed include (but are not limited to) working with various medical providers to obtain medical records pursuant to subpoena. Issue subpoenas to providers, HIPAA authorizations, and make daily follow up calls to providers to obtain records. Process and organize records once received. Work with attorneys and staff to ensure records are obtained in a timely manner. Work closely with firm’s payable department to issue payments for records
Physical Demands
This employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. They will also engage in bending, stretching, reaching and other ranges of motion in the course of a working day. They will engage in lifting of supplies and materials up to 25 pounds from time to time. While performing duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
Working Conditions
This job is located primarily in an indoor office environment with varying noise levels. There may be varying degrees of temperature. The employee may be interrupted from time to time.
