General Statement

Maintains databases for surveys and various systems; prepares reports for various governmental agencies; writes programs to meet the needs of the college community; assists in the design and development of enhancements and modifications to established data systems and assists in the development, design and implementation of new data systems; trains and provides technical assistance to college staff; performs related work as required.

Supervision Received

Reports to the Director of Information Systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Writes programs to fulfill user requests for reports and statistical data from the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system as assigned by the Director of Information Systems.
  • Manage file/data transfer from/to external source locations (file servers, ftp servers, external entities) to/from the ERP system.
  • Designing, writing, and implementing programs to format ERP files for PC applications.
  • Designing, writing, and implementing programs to format ERP for web applications.
  • Designing, writing, and implementing programs to integrate college systems with web applications.
  • Maintaining PC software associated with Information Systems and assisting users on PC applications as required.
  • Evaluating current software programs with users to determine the need for program modifications to meet user requirements.
  • Training college personnel to run reports and updates using system and application software.
  • Preparing reports for federal and state agencies as required.
  • Designing, writing and implementing interactive applications, user menus and other access procedures to provide on-line data access to all major software systems as assigned by the Director of Information Systems.
  • Works with third-party resources as needed to support the business systems of the college.
  • Providing customer service to college personnel with the use of the ERP, Web applications, and any Information Systems applications.
  • Assisting the Director of Information Systems in the documentation of program development and subsequent revisions.
  • Assisting the Director of Information Systems in determining the necessity for and arranging for software and hardware maintenance.
  • Works collaboratively with the Help Desk and PC technicians to address escalated Information Systems applications issues.
  • Actively supports the teaching and learning process; works to create and support a student-centered environment designed to move a student efficiently and effectively from entry to exit no matter his/her completion goal.
  • Works actively with other areas of the college to ensure a spirit of college wide collaboration, collegiality, civility, and teamwork.
  • Embraces and supports the principle that "diversity is everybody's business" through the daily performance of duties and responsibilities.
  • Provides flexible, responsive, and high-quality customer service to all whom we serve, be it students, community or staff and continuously assesses processes and procedures to revise accordingly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Services.
Job Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Computer Science or MIS
  • (3) Three years experience programming
  • Ability to resolve system and application issues with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to communicate technical information, in writing and orally.
  • A commitment to customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or MIS
  • Four years' experience programming
  • One year experience web development
  • Experience with Microsoft M365 cloud platrform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint, etc)
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Bi
  • Experience in SQL programming
  • Experience with higher education SIS/ERP systems.
