General Statement

Provide support and assistance for Quinsigamond Community College students who are eligible for SNAP benefits. The Case Manager will be housed in the HomePlate Food Pantry and Resource Center. This is a one year grant position.

Supervision Received

Reports directly to Student Resource Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Part-Time SNAP Case Manager for the HomePlate Food Pantry and Resource Center
  • Greet each student with respect when they are engaging in learning about SNAP benefits.
  • Assist students in learning about all state and federal support for food insecurity.
  • Gather and protect sensitive and confidential information from students to assist them getting support services.
  • Read, interpret, and apply Federal, State, and local social services programs, laws, statutes and regulations, policies, procedures, specifications, standards, and guidelines.
  • Knowledge with Department of Transitional Assistance Connect software.
  • Maintain client's confidentiality.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve.
  • Provide campus wide workshops to educate the community of this service.
  • Work with the Marketing and Communications office to promote services.
  • Providing flexible, responsive, and high-quality service to all, be they students, community, or staff and continuously assessing processes and procedure and revising accordingly.
  • Embracing the ideals of diversity and inclusiveness and supporting the equal rights of all races, genders, abilities, religious convictions, socio-economic status, ethnic heritage, or sexual orientation.
  • Working actively with other areas of the College to ensure a spirit of college-wide collaboration, collegiality, civility, and teamwork. Respects the function of dissent in an academic institution while advancing a collegial atmosphere of campus collaboration.
  • Actively supporting the teaching and learning process; practicing honesty and integrity in and outside the classroom, striving to create and support a student-centered environment while foster academic innovation and excellence.
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Previous experience in educating clients of SNAP benefits and requirements.
  • Excellent computer, oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the federal rules and regulations of SNAP benefits and application requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced with non-citizen clients and requirements Community College experience.
  • Experience in a fast-paced office
