Overview

Quartz is seeking an outstanding communicator to join our IT Service and Support Team as a Senior Desktop Support Engineer. This role will provide 4th level support for junior level desktop engineers, the Service Desk, and company IT initiatives. Also, this role will be responsible for resolving complex situations that requires substantial level of effort to research and problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Provide 4th level support for junior level desktop engineers, the Service Desk, and company IT initiatives
• Responsible for resolving complex situations
• Perform analysis, research and testing for company-wide reported computer system issues, while proactively engineering and implementing solutions as well as identifying opportunities for continuous service improvements
• Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and takes a proactive and consultative approach in making recommendations
• Primary escalation point for complex end-user issues unable to be resolved by other IT services and support (ITSS) team members
• Assist in hardware/software evaluation, selection, acquisition, installation, maintenance and purchasing
• Create/deliver company-wide communications regarding technology issues or changes
• Responsible for recommending technology standards that may affect the entire organization
• Actively participate in Quartz initiatives and projects
• Develop and design solutions to make projects successful
• Share in project management and work as liaison for project manager when they are unavailable
• Act as spokesperson for the ITSS line of business in projects
• Execute project tasks including after hours work when required
• Perform regular and emergency software patching and updates
• Package and test patches and updates before deployment
• Perform deployments, usually after hours
• Deploy emergency (zero day) patches in a timely manner
• Assist in maintaining effective mobile device systems, policies, and procedures
• Mentor desktop support engineers, desktop support analysts and service desk analysts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• 4 Years of IT Support related experience

Applicants have the option to work hybrid or full-time from our Madison, WI office. Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.
