Job Summary:

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

· Provide direct patient care in accordance with hospital and nursing philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

· Assess patient needs, develop care plans, and implement medical and nursing regimens.

· Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, patients, and families to deliver quality healthcare services.

· Adhere to WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.

· Utilize the nursing process to address age-specific patient needs comprehensively.

· Make informed decisions related to patient care and unit-based issues.

· Uphold patient rights, nursing ethics, and infection control standards.

· Delegate activities per State Nurse Practice Act guidelines.

· Support Magnet model and Professional Nursing Practice Model.

· Participate in Performance Improvement initiatives and complete competency requirements.

· Maintain mandatory certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP) and professional development standards.

· Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as needed.

· Attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings.

· Support cost containment practices and contribute to unit goals.

· Ensure compliance with Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals.

Education & Experience Requirements:

· Graduate from an accredited nursing school with a current New York RN license/registration.

· BSN required for RNs hired after 1/1/18; existing RNs to obtain BSN (or MSN) by 12/31/21.

· Knowledgeable in current nursing, medical, and health trends. Preferably, one year of acute care nursing experience (excluding medical surgical or step-down).

Certifications:

· BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications required for specific departments.

· NRP certification required for NICU, Labor & Delivery, and Mother-Baby units.

· Oncology care providers must hold cancer-specific certification or maintain ongoing education in oncology.

· Emergency Department RNs must complete de-escalation training within 1 year of hire.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
