Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Person to join our team. As a Maintenance Person, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the functionality and safety of our facilities.
Requirements:
- Honesty and Integrity.
- Previous construction or maintenance department experience preferred.
- Should have basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and carpentry concepts.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
Duties:
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and systems to identify any issues or malfunctions
- Perform maintenance tasks such as repairing or replacing faulty electrical components, plumbing fixtures, replacing AC units, unclogging drains, patching holes, installing hardwood flooring, etc.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems using logical reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or management
- Implement preventative maintenance program according to established standards.
- Include management on unfixable items and inform when extra help will be needed
Requirements:
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and management
- Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a similar industry
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and coordinate with external contractors
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
