Hotel Front Desk Clerk
General Purpose
This position is responsible for ensuring every guest’s experience is positive and memorable, from the time they enter our lobby till the time they check out. This individual must have knowledge of the building and community, to be able to answer all questions of our guests. Additionally, this position assists the Front Desk Supervisor in day to day operations. This non-exempt position may be available for mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed (based on position hired for).
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests upon their arrival at the property and presents charges and receives payment for hotel accommodations.
2. Ensures accuracy of guest file information.
3. Ensures that guest ledger balances are secured.
4. Keeps record of room availability and post guest charges (room, food, beverage, ect.) and settlements.
5. Assists guest in understanding and setting their accounts.
6. Responds to queries, concerns, and complaints, receives deliveries and takes telephone/fax bookings.
7. Reports and documents any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.
8. Transmits and receives messages using a telephone/switchboard.
9. Maintain presentation of lobby and front desk.
10. Performs all other job related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements
1. High School Diploma or GED necessary.
2. Must be 18 years of age or older
3. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
4. Good math/computer skills.
5. Pleasant, friendly, enthusiastic personality, problem solving and communications skills are a necessity. Must have great relation skills with employees and customers.
6. A working knowledge/ability to use a cash register and other office equipment.
7. Satisfactory work and attendance record is required.
Current position that is being hired for is weekdays and weekends 7-3p, some 3p-11p and some 11p-7a. Usually 3-4 days sometimes 5 based on needs of the business.
