**Job Description:**
As a Registered Nurse in our Mother-Baby Unit, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care based on specific physician orders. Your responsibilities will include educating patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits. Our Mother-Baby Unit nurses handle both labor and delivery (L&D) as well as postpartum care.
**Key Qualifications:**
- Preferred experience as an acute care registered nurse.
- Minimum one year of RN experience preferred for specialty nursing departments.
- Proficient in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of assigned patients.
- Healthcare Provider (HCP) Level of Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire (AHA or equivalent).
**Mother-Baby Unit Competencies:**
- ACLS (AHA Advanced Life Support) certification required within 6 months of completing L&D training, renewed every 2 years.
- NRP (AAP Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required for all RNs working in labor and delivery, obtained within 6 months of completing L&D training, renewed every 2 years.
- AWHONN's Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course required for all L&D RNs, to be obtained within 6 months of completing L&D training, renewed every two years. Advanced Fetal Monitoring course will be considered acceptable.
- Competency validation for all labor and delivery RNs to be completed within six (6) months of L&D training.
**Preferred Credentials:**
- RN-C certification preferred.
