Quality Clinicians Staffing is Hiring a Children's Substance Use Disorder Therapist (SUD) Near Southgate, MI

Title: Children's Substance Use Disorder Therapist (SUD)
Job Description:
The Children's Substance Use Disorder Therapist (SUD) is responsible for maintaining a caseload consisting of children, adolescents, and families with a primary substance abuse and/or mental health diagnosis. The therapist collaborates with professional team members from various providers or systems to integrate service delivery.
Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the delivery of clinical services, including intake evaluations, substance abuse screenings, assessments, and direct treatment for children, adolescents, and families.
2. Conduct Intake Assessments, including all necessary opening paperwork.
3. Gather and integrate information from available sources to develop comprehensive Person-Centered Treatment Planning.
4. Provide face-to-face clinical interventions, including individual, family, and group therapy.
5. Conduct crisis planning with clients.
6. Provide parent education, coaching, and training.
7. Assist clients with referrals for services and community resources as needed.
8. Collaborate with other professionals such as psychiatrists, primary care physicians, Wraparound facilitators, and school personnel.
9. Advocate on behalf of clients to help them meet their needs and reach their desired level of self-sufficiency.
10. Assess client satisfaction and participate in program evaluation as needed.
11. Complete clinical records and agency documentation in a timely manner.
12. Work with other staff members in addressing unit and agency issues.
13. Follow professional code of ethics and represent the organization in a professional manner.
14. Maintain appropriate state licensure or certifications.
15. Participate in required training specific to children or adolescents.
16. Develop a work schedule in coordination with the supervisor and work at least 4 hours each week after 5:00 PM.
17. Provide a minimum of 23 hours of billable service per week (full-time staff).
18. Coordinate effective discharge planning prior to case closure.
19. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
- Possess corresponding State of Michigan licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, or LLP) within 60 days of training period.
- Child Mental Health Professional credential required within 120 days of hire.
- CAADC credential or registered MCBAP certification Development Plan required within six weeks of hire.
- At least one year of experience treating or working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness and substance use disorders.
- At least one year of experience treating children.
- Cultural competency and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
- Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with individuals and families.
- Ability to collaborate with other staff members and providers.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing requirements.
Additional Details:
- Some evening or weekend hours may be required based on program needs.
- On-call availability: None.
- Weekend availability: To be determined.
