Extrusion Machine Operator
Looking for a new opportunity? Our client located in Canton, MI has Extrusion Machine Operator positions available. Our client is a global leader of the engineered plastic resin industry. Products include advanced engineered plastics, biodegradable plastics, cellulose based materials, carbon fiber and composites.
Shifts:
2nd shift/2pm - 10:30pm
3rd shift/10pm - 6:30pm
Pay rate:
2nd shift/$16.50 1.50 shift premium
3rd shift/$16.50 1.25 shift premium
Job SKILLS:
- Responsible for the operation of the primary compounding and the secondary blending of raw materials required in the extrusion area and at specified levels of productivity.
- Mechanical aptitude required to disassemble and reassemble of equipment for cleaning and changeover.
- Troubleshoot material problems as required.
- Monitor production and adjust machines as needed.
- Drive a forklift to move material.
- Basic Maintenance i.e. changing and cleaning of filters and cleaning Extruder Screw Cleaning.
- Keep track of in process inventory.
- Complete and maintain necessary paperwork.
- Maintain housekeeping and clean work area. (6S)
- Monitor and load required materials including hooking up sacks of materials to be lifted and opened in hoppers.
- Will need to train on 1st shift.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years’ experience with extrusion process.
- 3 years related experience, preferably within the plastics or automotive industry.
- Must not be afraid of heights.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and pide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to enter Production Data into computer monitoring system.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
