The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.
Responsibilities
● Communicate with the clients to clearly define the scope of work and budget.
● Develop complete construction documents including drawings, sketches, and specifications.
● Travel to job sites to collect and prepare data for evaluation, review construction work quality and progress, conduct pre-bid meetings and lead construction progress meetings.
● Conduct structural analysis and design for various projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes,
standards, and regulations.
● Collaborate with the design team to integrate structural solutions seamlessly into overall project designs.
● Provide technical expertise during the project planning phase, offering insights into structural feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
● Review and analyze construction documents, including structural drawings, shop drawings and
specifications.
● Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering their professional development within the architecture and engineering field.
● Actively participate in project meetings, offering technical input and insights to contribute to the overall
success of the team and project.
● Develop detailed structural calculations and reports, clearly documenting the rationale behind design
decisions.
● Review of contractor submittals and respond to contractor Requests for Information.
● Communicate via phone, email, and sketches to clarify design intent with Contractors.
● Work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining good client relationships.
● Manage and provide construction administration and oversight including responding to RFIs, preparing sketches and addendums (CCDs), visiting construction sites to gather information, and/or preparing punch lists.
● Track the construction schedule and budget.
● Resolve issues that are discovered in the field.
● Apply sound and diverse knowledge of architectural principles and practices in a broad array of
assignments.
● Provide technical development of various project types; façade restoration, exterior rehabilitation, historic preservation, forensic investigation and interior alterations, etc.
● Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments.
● Execute projects independently and with a small group of employees.
● Perform building site inspections.
● Actively participate in a team environment.
● A Project Manager can expect to be “in the field” between 25% - 75% of their time during any given week
Experience
● Must have 4 years of field experience with historic preservation, restoration, and building envelope projects
Qualifications
● Must have a bachelor’s or master's degree in Architecture or Engineering
● Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
