Position Overview

QinetiQ US seeks an experienced and strategic Project Manager to serve in a team lead role for a client in the national security mission space. This individual will be responsible for cultivating and managing a multifunctional team in a sensitive environment. The primary workstreams include policy and process development, program management, internal and external stakeholder engagement, strategic planning and execution, as well as national security subject matter expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire cross-functional project teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, facilitating their growth, skill development, and career progression.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement within the project teams.
  • Provide high-level advisory support, best practices, and subject matter expertise on strategic organizational initiatives that strengthen efficient and effective policy, process, and protocol management.
  • Assess programmatic activities and outcomes and offer recommendations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with a variety of subject matter experts.
  • Help interpret and convey complex and technical mission-related policies, procedures, and programs using clear and concise language.
  • Track and report the progress of numerous high-profile tasks and sub-tasks.
  • Work closely with both federal and contract staff in furtherance of strategic priorities identified by senior executive management.
  • Anticipate project needs and plan accordingly to deconflict and organize project priorities.
  • Identify, plan, recommend, and implement strategic plans that meet the goals of executive leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce QinetiQ solutions that address existing and anticipated client challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • Possess six to ten years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or three to six years of work experience and a Master’s degree.
  • At least two years of experience managing a diverse, cross-functional, collaborative, and positive team environment.
  • Experience leading organizations through transformation, and desire to engage with and solve novel challenges.
  • Experience managing monthly status reports on projects; setting and maintaining deadlines for project deliverables to clients.
  • Ability to quickly research and understand complex and technical mission sets.
  • Produce high-quality work products in a dynamic work environment under tight deadlines.
  • Previous experience in federal management consulting as well as homeland security, strategic communications, Congressional engagement, public policy, law, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaboratively as a team, and manage expectations on a variety of projects and sub-tasks at the same time.
  • Ability to maintain a security clearance from the U.S. government.
  • Candidates may be required to provide a writing sample.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience building relationships with federal clients and managing expectations.
  • Strong presentation skills, writing acumen and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience excelling in a fast-paced, complex, and fluid environment.
  • Experience effectively communicating with diverse team, client, and organizational stakeholders.
  • Experience navigating and mitigating risks associated with project management (resources, scope, schedule).
  • Ability to step in and provide support wherever needed regardless of the task in support of the team and team goals.
