JOB SUMMARY
The SVP Automation COE leader is responsible for establishing and leading the QCRH Automation Center of
Excellence (CoE), including the end-to-end lifecycle of ideation, creation, scaling, and adoption of intelligent automation solutions used to drive TechOps process standardization and optimization and enterprise process automation. This role will lead the people, process and technologies that maximize the efficiency and productivity benefits derived from automation strategies, roadmaps and tools used for modernizing, optimizing and automating processes.

JOB DEFINITION
The SVP Automation COE leader is responsible for driving the use and expansion of process automation methods and technologies used to accelerate the redesign of tech-enabled operational processes to strengthen operational resilience, increase productivity, and improve client experience. This role will work to combine data, analytics, and AI technologies to transform complex manual operational processes into repeatable and streamlined processes through automation. In addition, this role will create a vision, strategy, and roadmap that identifies both challenges and desired outcomes, related to automating optimized processes, to increase business value and support business goals.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader and consensus builder who is looking to drive process automation and transformation, thrives in building consensus and drives change through process simplification, while focused on achieving both long term strategies and stepwise execution delivery. The head of Automation must lead, influence and coordinate diverse teams of people, process and technology experts who collaborate with stakeholders and work together deliver the goals of the Automation COE and achieve the next-level maturity desired.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Capabilities, Skills, Outcomes:

  • Collaborate with TechOps Leadership, IT, BIC, HR, and key business stakeholders to identify and prioritize highly manual and fragmented processes that can be defined and are optimal for automation through robotic processing to drive measurable operational efficiencies, including the elimination of duplicate work and downstream errors.
  • Utilize process mining, self-documenting, natural language processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data management applications to assist with modernizing complex systems or processes to improve analysis and drive data insights into TechOps related inefficiencies and root causes of process breaks and areas of slower performance.
  • Partner with process owners and users to review manual processes inputs/outputs, identify factors constraining process changes, and improvement metrics to be achieved through TechOps automation, including codifying instructions or rules used to test, update, and automatically execute operational activity to achieve reduced manual processing and increased reliability.
  • Generate the possibility for new business opportunities derived from the TechOps improvements, shifting from low-value manual work to higher-value data driven banking services, reduced client or user interaction costs and improved client experience.
  • Lead a tech-enabled process redesign efforts, working with process owners and users, to develop measures, business cases, roadmaps, prioritized list of activities to achieve TechOps driven process automation.
  • Track progress and work iteratively toward automation strategies and goals, measuring improvement results against baselines and performance targets.
  • Leverage agile methodologies to deliver multi-level TechOps driven solutions designed, developed, and delivered in rapid sprints.
  • Perform impact and data analysis on newly automated processes, working in tandem with operational and technology process owners who validate readiness and organizational change impacts.
  • Assist operational teams to eliminate manual work and gain a better view of day-to-day performance issues and variability, assisting users to focus on additional straight-through process improvements while helping to de-risk TechOps modernization efforts.
  • Drive discovery and review of automation opportunities by identifying exceptions to be simplified, reorganized, and standardized, decompiling to the right level of granularity necessary to identify achievable and optimal opportunities to automate in an agile, rapidly iterative way.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive overall success of the Automation CoE.
  • Drive successful operations in maintaining and enhancing deployed automation solutions.
  • Manage Automation CoE program activities, governance processes, metrics, and measurement to ensure best in class approach to solution delivery.
  • Forecast staffing and resource needs as the program matures.
  • Provide oversight of process automation design, solution development/architecture, frameworks, and ongoing care of automation solutions.
  • Engage and help educate business process owners and users in re-imaging processes utilizing automation technologies to create efficiency, avoid unnecessary costs, reduce/minimize human errors as well as reduce the mundane or duplicative work.
  • Allocate and coordinate Automation CoE resources, formulating best-practices, user training, proactively monitoring issues and risks and driving timely solution delivery.
  • Drive troubleshooting and resolve escalated production issues.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture for strategic road-mapping and to establish technology guidelines for which automation solutions should and should not be utilized
  • Partner with other enterprise services teams to drive automation objectives forward including the enterprise Project Management Office (PMO), Business Process Optimization (BPO), Security, Risk,

Audit and Compliance and Vendor and Contracts Management Office (VCMO).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information technology or related field, with minimum of 15 years’ relevant experience in Information Technology, Business Process Optimization (BPO) and people leadership; including demonstrated leading and driving transformational change
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and team management capabilities in a highly matrixed organization
  • Experience with intelligent automation or RPA technologies such as Nintex, Automation Anywhere,

Blue Prism, and UI Path or similar technologies.

  • Demonstrated understanding of AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and other Emerging

Technologies.

  • Experience with Natural Language Processing / Audio & Speech Analytics solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in AGILE development practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in Lean or Six Sigma process improvement methodologies.
  • Executive presence and ability to simplify complex concepts for consumption by non-technical business partners.
  • Adaptable and highly self-motivated in pursuing intelligent automation and emerging technologies, execution ability and a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent verbal/written communications, solution oriented with synthesizing and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills with an ability to achieve results through others, outstanding organizational skills, demonstrated passion for execution excellence and agility.
  • Experience in solution design, front-end solution development and back-end infrastructure platforms.
  • Business acumen in financial services is highly desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $150,000.00 per year
