Pyramid Healthcare is Hiring an Outpatient Counselor (Substance Abuse) Near Altoona, PA

We offer behavioral healthcare services – psychiatry, addiction recovery, mental disorder treatment, etc. – that allow clients at all stages of recovery or rehabilitation to reclaim health and well-being.

Shift:

M-F 5am-1pm with one Saturday a month working 6am-9:30am

Responsibilities:

  • Perform individual and process group therapy sessions under the direction of the treatment supervisor including preparing materials for sessions.
  • Responsible for client assessments and program admission process.
  • Initiates and develops treatment planning goals with client.
  • Communicates with referral sources and company representatives.
  • Clerical duties as required for maintenance of client files.
  • Attend and participate in weekly treatment team meetings
  • Attend company meetings.
  • Conduct Insurance Reviews including documenting and handling co-pays.
  • Clerical duties as required for maintenance of client files.
  • Maintain client caseload daily.
  • Evaluate behavioral and emotional needs of clients.
  • Complete family sessions as necessary.
  • Facilitate programs as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
  • Communicate with other staff as necessary regarding client behavioral and emotional needs.
  • Complete required trainings and mandatory training hours.
  • Listens to clients concerning all areas of treatment.
  • Maintain safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for clients including crisis intervention.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience:

Must meet one of the following:

1) A Master’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services field) or other related field.

2) A Bachelor’s Degree with the same educational requirements and 1 year of clinical experience.
