POSITION SUMMARY:

Puyallup Tribal Enterprises (PTE) is looking for a Lead Sales Associate to work in our retail stores. Our Associates are critical to delivering the friendly, professional service that distinguishes our stores. Our Lead Associates play a vital role in coordinating all of our resources to help all store personnel to deliver the perfect guest experience to each of our customers, every time they visit. This includes performing, leading, training, and coaching on all shift tasks related to our Guest sales/services, cleaning, stocking, receiving, food preparation, and inventory.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain excellent attendance, punctuality, and open availability
• Provide leadership and direction to all staff during the shift to ensure that all work tasks are performed safely, timely, and with high quality; provide immediate correction and coaching for policy and/or performance issues
• Monitor that store remains clean, fully stocked, and organized throughout shift
• Cheerfully greet Guests, accurately and efficiently ring up their sales, and provide assistance throughout their visit to ensure the perfect Guest experience
• Train and coach Associates to learn job tasks and maintain good job performance; set a great example for Associates through your professionalism, integrity, and good work ethic
• Complete store tasks and reports related to daily books, invoicing, receiving, quality control, waste, and inventory; promptly report all issues or incidents of concern to supervisor
• Clean interior and exterior of store, stock shelves/coolers/freezers, set up displays, and prepare food
• Work with a sense of urgency to get tasks done quickly, safely, and with good quality
• Identify opportunities for improvements, identify potential areas of risk, and share information with key stakeholders to maximize results throughout PTE
• Use all company resources efficiently to promote maximum financial results for PTE; maintain PTE equipment and assets to maximize return on investment
• Establish and maintain effective business relationships and with all employees, customers, vendors, business partners, government/regulatory entities, and communities in which we operate
• Strictly follow workplace safety measures; safeguard the welfare of all employees, guests, visitors, and business partners at all times; promptly report workplace risks, incidents, injuries, and near misses 
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary business information and safeguard PTE assets at all times

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 21 years or older
• 2 years retail experience
• Ability to problem solve, effectively multi-task, and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
• Ability to record, analyze, reconcile, and interpret business data; and enter data into business computer systems
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision
• Handles stressful situations calmly and stays on task despite disruption or distraction
• Team minded; always willing to help others and works with a cooperative spirit to get all store tasks done 
• Good verbal/written communication skills in English
• Ability to work all standard office and retail store equipment
• Good interpersonal skills; able to build and maintain effective business relationships
• Culturally sensitive and works well with the full diversity of our company and community
• Uncompromising integrity and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Food Handlers Card
• Open availability for all days and all shifts
• Ability to pass Background Check

Preferred

• Retail supervisory experience
