SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor is a hands-on leader responsible for the day-to-day performance of specific manufacturing work areas. This includes responsibility for the workforce, the people, the process, and the performance of all work completed in the respective area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time:

• Maintain all operations within the department.
• Meet production schedule and goals.
• Train and assist new and current personnel on all aspects of the job.
• Work with Engineering on design, product improvements, and issues.
• Assess and improve employee skills.
• Ensure all work is done in accordance with company procedures and specifications.
• General personnel management, ex: scheduling, vacation requests, discipline, etc.
• Production order planning for current and new production – Large Line in conjunction with management
• Prepare orders to be welded/painted
• Assign orders to each welder/cutter/painter.
• Liaison between the production floor and scheduling office personnel.
• Provide inventory control, assuring material availability via SAP.
• Machine repairs when needed and coordinate work to be done.

• Crate finished orders, getting them ready to be shipped.
• Coordinates work schedule with Leads
• Delegate work assignments within the department
• Achieve production goals by communicating with Leads and workers
• Train and assist new and current personnel on all aspects of the job.
• Monitor employee performance.
• Maintain a flexible attitude and lead by example.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/certifications:

• 2-4 years of supervisory experience in a Manufacturing setting
• Mandatory safety training
• On-the-job training
• OSHA knowledge
• Minimum of high school diploma or GED
• Verifiable mechanic system experience
• Mandatory safety training (see “Total Compliance Management” program)
• Must be proficient in general Windows applications and SAP.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or touch; frequently required to push and pull.

• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, peripheral, and the ability to focus.

Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a typical office or shop environment; occasionally exposed to noise, dust, and chemicals.

• Safety glasses/goggles must be worn at all times while in the shop or yard.
