Position: Director of Public Relations

Department: Marketing

Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer

Location: Pasco, Washington (on-site position)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Public Relations Director to join our team. As the Public Relations Director, you will be responsible for overseeing relationship management, public relations, communications, events, social media and editorial content, and reputation management of the company. You will play a crucial role in shaping our brand image, maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders, and driving the company's overall reputation and visibility.

By actively collaborating with the marketing, sales, and customer support teams, the Public Relations Director will contribute to the overall success of the company. This collaboration ensures a unified approach to brand management, customer engagement, and business growth, ultimately leading to enhanced sales performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

1. Relationship Management:

  • Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry influencers.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to support client acquisition and retention efforts.
  • Identify strategic partnership opportunities and manage partnerships effectively.
  • Create and distribute press releases, media kits, and other relevant materials.
  • Act as a company spokesperson and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage, identify opportunities for media engagement, and proactively address any negative publicity.
  • Craft compelling content for internal and external communications, including newsletters, blog posts, speeches, and presentations.
  • Manage internal communications platforms to facilitate effective information sharing and employee engagement.
  • Coordinate event logistics, manage vendor relationships, and ensure smooth execution.
  • Create and curate compelling content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality editorial content, such as blog posts, articles, case studies, and whitepapers.
  • Monitor and respond to customer feedback and reviews, ensuring prompt and professional communication.
  • Develop strategies to enhance positive sentiment and address any negative feedback effectively.
  • Collaborate with leadership, legal counsel, and customer support to address escalated incidents.

    2. Public Relations:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive public relations strategies to enhance the company's visibility and brand reputation.

    3. Communications:

    • Develop and execute effective communication plans to ensure consistent messaging across various channels.

    4. Events:

    • Plan, organize, and execute both virtual and in-person events, including trade shows, conferences, product launches, and customer appreciation events.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure events align with company objectives and effectively promote sales initiatives.

    5. Social Media and Editorial Content:

    • Develop and implement a social media strategy to increase brand awareness and engagement.
    • Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, and respond to inquiries and comments in a timely manner.

    6. Reputation Management:

    • Proactively manage the company's online reputation, including review sites, forums, and social media platforms.

    7. Collaboration with Departments

    Marketing Collaboration:

    • Work hand-in-hand with the marketing team to align public relations efforts with marketing campaigns and initiatives.
    • Collaborate on the development of compelling content, such as blog posts, social media campaigns, and promotional materials.
    • Provide input on target audience segmentation, messaging, and brand positioning strategies.
    • Coordinate joint efforts to maximize the impact of events, product launches, and other marketing activities.

    Sales Collaboration:

    • Partner with the sales team to understand their goals, target audience, and key messages.
    • Collaborate on the development of sales collateral, presentations, and proposals to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
    • Leverage public relations activities to support the sales team's efforts in lead generation, customer acquisition, and closing deals.
    • Communicate customer success stories and testimonials and areas for growth and development to the sales team.

    Customer Support Collaboration:

    • Collaborate closely with the customer support team to maintain a consistent brand voice and messaging across all customer touchpoints.
    • Share customer feedback and insights gained from public relations efforts to help improve the customer support experience.
    • Coordinate crisis communications efforts with the customer support team to ensure timely and accurate responses to customer concerns.
    • Collaborate on initiatives to proactively address customer issues, build brand loyalty, and enhance customer satisfaction.
    • Proven work experience as a Public Relations Manager or in a similar role.
    • Strong knowledge of public relations practices, media relations, and crisis management.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content.
    • Experience in event planning and execution.
    • Proficiency in social media management and content creation.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
    • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Familiarity with sales-based companies and an understanding of sales processes is preferred.
    • Ability to travel up to 75%, to include overnight stays.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field. Experience may be considered as a substitute for education.

    Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000/year DOE
