We love our controller, and she loves her job but she is retiring in a year and we need to find and train her replacement. Maybe you could be our new controller. This job, as assistant controller, will put you on the fast track of becoming the new controller for our company no later than the end of 2025. We would enjoy talking to you and seeing if you and our company might have a good future together.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in fulfilling critical organizational functions which include but are not limited to the following:

• Planning, directing and coordinating all operational accounting functions.
• Responsible for full cycle accounting including A/P, A/R, payroll & financial reporting.
• Prepare/review monthly reconciliations of pertinent general ledger and all company bank accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Leverage and optimize accounting software system to provide accurate meaningful data and ensure GAAP adherence.
• Ensure accurate accounting and timely compliance for all Federal, State and local taxes in conjunction with our outside tax advisors.
• Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited four-year undergraduate college or university.
• At least 5 years of practical work experience as an accountant, either as an employee or as contractor. Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
• Working knowledge of accounting rules, principles and pronouncements. Deadline-oriented, detail-minded, and proactive in nature.
• Good time management skills, a problem-solver, and a high degree of organizational skills. Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Computer proficiency in an ERP, MicroSoft Excel® and Word®, and the willingness to learn new computer programs as needed.
• Ability to perform essentially all the job from candidate’s home. (This is a hybrid position, allowing a portion of the workweek to be performed from home). Ability to travel to home office in Seguin part of the week to perform job duties.
• Follows the directions of his/her supervisors.
• Criminal and credit background check will be required. Drug test may also be performed.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• CPA license is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $98,000.00 per year
