Job Functions

  • Responsible for logistics, operations, administration, scheduling, calendar management, and event planning for the program
  • Focus on continuous process improvement and operational efficiency
  • Track program data and regularly report on accelerator activity
  • Assist the Purdue Innovates team with administrative and coordination activities.
  • Reserve meeting rooms and coordinate events as needed.
  • Assist in coordination of demo days, cohort field trips, and pitch events.
  • Arrange and schedule meetings and appointments as necessary.
  • Track and send initial response to Accelerator interest queries and applications, forward to the party, and track correspondence.
  • Work with Accelerator Manager, Associate Director and Purdue Innovates marketing team to develop marketing strategies and events for students, faculty and alumni and put together marketing packets.
  • Audit the Purdue Innovates database to check for accuracy and updates of startups.
  • Assist the Associate Director and Accelerator Manager in the preparation of reports for colleges / departments / leadership.
  • Work closely with Incubator Managers and Accelerator Manager on setup of programming, mentor and investor communications, and other opportunities to advance technologies and / or startups.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Ability to understand a wide variety of technologies and an appetite to learn.
  • Familiarity with ideation, customer discovery, market validation and business formation.
  • Engaging instructor with the ability to comprehend and work with a wide variety of technologies and business models.
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and proofreading skills.
  • Engaging and outgoing personality that invites conversation and brainstorming.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to perform with minimal supervision, prioritize assignments to meet deadlines, and produce high-quality work with attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative and solve problems while being flexible.
  • Ability to influence and build working relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels.
  • Demonstrated good judgment, diplomacy, persuasive ability, and the ability to inspire confidence and cooperation to drive positive results within and across the organization’s boundaries.
  • General understanding of intellectual property and / or willingness to learn.
  • Personal computer and related basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce or database management systems such as Sophia.
  • In person attendance for events is required.

Required Education / Experience and Benefits

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1-2 years' experience required.
  • Experience in startups and / or innovation / product discovery / ventures in industry preferred.
