Role description

In this pivotal role, we are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Instructional Designer to join our team at PulseLearning. As a Creative Instructional Designer, you will be at the forefront of shaping the learning experiences for our clients. Your mission will be to design and develop creative, cutting-edge, custom learning solutions that not only meet but exceed our clients' training objectives with a heavy focus on creative writing and storytelling.

Role responsibilities

  • Innovative Learning Solutions: Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts to meticulously analyze training needs, define precise learning objectives, and craft comprehensive learning strategies that align with the latest trends in instructional design.
  • Engaging Content Development: Create instructional materials that resonate with a modern audience, including dynamic learning paths, captivating eLearning modules, job aids, assessments, and various supporting materials. Apply the latest instructional design principles and industry best practices to maximize engagement and effectiveness across a range of learning modalities.
  • Research Excellence: Conduct thorough research and content analysis to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with learning objectives. Stay abreast of emerging trends in instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Multimodal Learning Assets: Develop a diverse array of blended learning assets, spanning eLearning, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual ILT, videos, and assessments, all precisely tailored to meet the unique training needs and learning objectives of our clients.
  • Creative Scriptwriting: Craft creative and impactful text, audio, and video scripts infused with multimedia instructions to deliver an immersive learning experience. Writing will take a narrative, storytelling approach.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure project success and maintain effective communication with stakeholders. Strong collaboration with the development team will be required to bring the creative vision to life.
  • Visual Excellence: Work together with graphic designers, multimedia specialists, and developers to incorporate visually stunning elements and interactive components into instructional materials.

Required skills and experience

  • Proven Expertise: A minimum of 6 years of proven experience in Instructional Design, ideally within a custom learning solutions environment, with demonstratable creative writing and storytelling approaches.
  • Cutting-edge knowledge: Strong expertise in instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and technology-enabled learning.
  • Engaging Content Creation: Demonstrated experience in creating highly engaging and interactive learning experiences using a variety of instructional methods and technologies.
  • Multimedia Proficiency: Proficiency in creating compelling content for videos, performance support resources, and various learning assets.
  • Writing Excellence: Exceptional creative writing and content creation skills with the ability to craft impactful learning objectives and assessment questions.
  • Measurement Focus: Ability to connect learning objectives with measurable criteria and suggest suitable training modalities.
  • Clear Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to simplify complex concepts and present information clearly and concisely.
  • Presentation Skills: Strong professional presentation skills and the ability to work effectively with senior business executives and subject matter experts.
  • Agile Approach: Experience in agile and iterative content development, making dynamic adjustments in line with changing needs.
  • Remote Collaboration: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote work setting, effectively integrating, communicating, and coordinating with virtual teams.
  • Independent Research: Capability to research materials and draft content with minimal subject matter expert involvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience working with senior business executives and subject matter experts, with a knack for forging strong relationships.
  • Visual Acumen: Strong visualization skills with the ability to provide direction for optimal content layout.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
