Quality Control Supervisor

Summary/Objective

The Quality Control Supervisor supports the manufacturing plant by supervising QC department staff; testing and providing results on incoming raw materials, resale items, in process manufactured products and finished goods. Analytical method development: workflow direction and providing assistance to the SHEQ and R&D Teams are also required from time to time. The QC Supervisor reports to the SHEQ Manager.

Essential Functions

• Supervise QC Chemists and direct workflow including scheduling and timecard maintenance.
• Perform analysis of in-process and finished goods samples; raw materials; resale products using wet chemical and instrument methods
• Applies test methods to product formulations; develops new test methods.
• Interpretation and communication of test results; including in-process corrections.
• Enters accurate and complete quality data into SAP.
• Maintains product/process retain sample storage system.
• Maintains and calibrates instruments.
• Conducts safety audits as needed and participates in Pulcra’s ISO program maintenance.
• Covers shifts as needed due to staff vacations and absences.
• Any other task as assigned by management.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional quality control chemical laboratory environment. This role routinely uses: 1) Standard QC equipment (pH meter, Karl Fischer, Autotitrator, Viscometer, FTIR, Spectrometer, etc.) 2) Standard lab equipment [glassware, chemicals, etc.] 3) Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

· Normal lab functions [lift up to 40 lbs., stand, sit, etc.]

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry with 3 years of experience
• Knowledge of wet analytical test methods
• Knowledge of lab instrumentation

Preferred Education and Experience

• M.S. with 3 years’ experience

· SAP and Lotus Notes experience is a plus.

· ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System experience is a plus.

• 2 years of Supervisory experience

Pay: $65,000.00 - $79,000.00 per year
