Pueblo Community Health Center is Hiring an Enrollment Representative Near Pueblo, CO

Enrollment Representative: Starting Pay Range: $17.51 - $19.57 an hour

Job Summary:

  • The Outreach and Enrollment Representative will work to provide outreach opportunities for community residents who lack access to healthcare and health insurance, provide enrollment and application follow-up. Increase health insurance coverage and access to quality primary health, dental, and behavioral care for community residents.

  • Outreach and Enrollment Manager

Supervision Exercised:

  • None

Education/Experience/License/Certification:

  • Must have a High School Degree or GED
  • Two or more years of office and/or customer service experience is required. Experience in a healthcare environment and/or working with programs and services intended for low-income, underserved populations preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience may be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance as required by law

Required Travel:

  • Occasional travel may be required including day-to-day local travel.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    4. Excellent interpersonal skills
    5. Essential to have customer service experience including working with people in one-on-one and group settings.
    6. Essential to have ability to understand verbal information, to exchange verbal information with others, and to present information verbally.
    7. Ability to explain and summarize detailed concepts like Medicaid enrollment process or essential health benefits in a way the general population can understand.
    8. Essential to have the ability to read and understand written materials and to compose information/instruction in written form.
    9. Essential to have the ability to prioritize and be organized.
    10. Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems, and objectives.
    11. Essential to be to able reason mathematically and to have analytical and problem solving skills.
    12. Essential to have computer skills including database utilization, electronic health records systems, and computer systems applications (MS Office).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Ensure the function and activities of this department to embrace the philosophy, mission, values and Communicate with Heart service model supported by the Board of Directors of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
    2. Participate in training and educational opportunities related to the Affordable Care Act.
    3. Marketplace, CHP , and Medicaid enrollment standards and competencies.
    4. Demonstrate and maintain expertise in eligibility and enrollment rules and procedures; the range of qualified health plan options and insurance affordability programs; the needs of underserved and vulnerable population; and privacy and security standards.
    5. Demonstrate the capacity to conduct “in reach” with currently uninsured health center patients and “outreach” to non-health center patients who access healthcare in Pueblo.
    6. Ensure the functions and activities of the Outreach and Enrollment department and embrace the philosophy, mission, and values of the Board of Directors of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc (PCHC).
    7. Adhere to the guidelines and procedures of PCHC.
    8. Schedule patient registration appointments.
    9. Register patients to PCHC on the correct insurance programs or medical discount programs.
    10. Determine eligibility for CICP, Family and Adult Medicaid, and CHP Programs.
    11. Uphold CICP, CHP , and Family and Adult Medicaid rules and regulations.
    12. Uphold Medicaid and CHP Presumptive Eligibility (PE) rules and regulations.
    13. Assist patients in accessing the medical system.
    14. Inform patients of PCHC’s guidelines for using medical and dental services.
    15. Maintain patient records to meet audit requirements for CICP, primary audit and PE.
    16. Maintain departmental statistics as directed.
    17. Participate in departmental training as required. Training may include training new Outreach and Enrollment Representatives for the department.
    18. Must be able to keep up with and maintain the walk-in registration policies and policies regarding patient discharge policies.
    19. Participate in departmental and General Staff Meetings.
    20. Perform other related duties as assigned.
