The Group Creative Director drives the ongoing evolution of Publix Marketing creative strategies and growth of creative resources to support the development of communications that connect with and engage customers and build relationships with the Publix brand. To achieve this, this position leads collaboration amongst his or her Creative Leadership peers to define the Publix brand expression and evolve its creative expression, communicates and educates others across the organization on strategy and brand positioning, and directs Creative teams and agency partners to ensure effective creative labor resource management and execution of communications that are consistent with the Publix brand expression, marketing objectives, and strategy. A champion of growth, this position also identifies and presents training and development opportunities to creative resources and stimulates inspiration to drive innovation and creative concept development. Responsibilities include:
leading collaborative efforts among Creative Services leadership to define the Publix brand expression and evolve its creative expression.
stimulating innovation and providing inspiration to Creative associates to drive creative concept development.
evaluating, planning, and managing labor resource needs for Creative Services teams
driving the continual training and development of Creative Services teams.
managing relationships with agencies of record.
managing and leading Creative teams.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Degree in a Graphics field or equivalent experience
7 years’ experience as a Graphic Designer, Art Director, and/or Copywriter and 3 years’ experience directing other creative associates (as a Creative Director or Creative Manager position)
Knowledge of communication channels including print, digital, and broadcast (TV/radio) and their applications, such as commercials, packaging/ labeling design, signage, POP materials, ads, newspaper and magazine production, logo design, etc., and emerging technologies, such as digital signage, digital video, web design and mobile apps
Knowledge of current creative trends in the retail industry
Knowledge of all phases of the creative development process (concept, copywriting, layout, execution), including effective use and integration of all relative creative elements: typography, photography, illustration, color, logos/icons, animation, video, etc.

Willingness to travel with overnight stay as necessary
Willingness to work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
Computer skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote, Microsoft Office Suite, Video publishing platforms, Digital asset management (DAM) systems
