PUBLIC HEALTH MANAGEMENT is Hiring an Outpatient/Intake Therapist (Including Specialized Autism Services) Near Philadelphia, PA

Job Overview:
The therapist position is responsible for providing therapy in CFA’s outpatient department, including the Social Competency and STEP programs (known as Autism Specialized Services). Key responsibilities include providing group, individual and family therapy, intake assessment and related documentation. This position has dual reporting to the Directors of Outpatient and Social Comp/STEP programs.
Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate group therapy with participants in Social Competency and STEP programs, reflective of the group’s developmental level and clinical needs
  • Supervise clients in SC and STEP to ensure safety
  • Guide new employees in understanding appropriate responsiveness to clients in group setting
  • Provide individual and family therapy sessions for clients engaged in outpatient therapy
  • Meet with the client and family to gather history, current concerns, medical information, other service provider information, previous evaluations, school information, etc. in order to determine a provisional diagnosis and recommend an appropriate level of care pertaining to the client’s treatment needs, as well as writing a comprehensive report following any intake interviews that will be incorporated into the individual’s evaluation
  • Be available to provide services during program hours, which include evening and Saturday hours. Base schedule is 10-6, Monday through Thursday, and 9:30-2:30 on Saturday
  • Meet with client and responsible guardian (if client is a minor) to conduct and complete a Level of Care Assessment
  • Review all information gathered, including previous evaluations, IEP’s and treatment plans to complete the intake process
  • Complete and submit all billing information for Level of Care Assessments, intake sessions and therapy sessions
  • Implement the Center for Autism’s clinical philosophy by emphasizing the importance of individualized assessment and treatment planning
  • Complete all relevant documentation
  • Provide guidance to interns/volunteers in understanding appropriate responsiveness to clients as assigned by supervisors and/or Program Director
  • Collaborate with members of the identified client’s treatment team
  • Performs other job-related duties in area of responsibility as assigned

Experience:
A minimum of one-two (1-2) years direct care experience with the population currently being served (i.e.: individuals with Autism, children, adolescents and/or young adults)

  • Participation in and completion of all mandatory in-services
  • Participation in at least ten (10) hours of documented additional in-services
  • Act 33 & 34 clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Employee must have the physical ability to play on the floor and run with/after Clients and lift supplies
  • Be able to comfortably perform a series of flexibility exercises
  • Must be able to move (repeatedly) from a standing to kneeling position and back
  • Have the ability to bear weight on each knee
  • Must be able to lift and carry approximately 1/3rd of their body weight

Education Requirement:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited program in an area of human services, which includes but may not be limited to the following: social work, psychology, counseling, and/or marriage and family therapy

Salary:

  • Commensurate with education and experience
  • Grade 17
