The person we’re looking for: 

• An experienced developer with shipped projects in a level design role.
• An expert in the language and practice of level design for competitive and  exploration play, with the ability to communicate and champion them to the wider team.
• A designer who enjoys building and iterating graybox environments to metric in game editor tools and partnering with other developers to bring them to completion.
• A proactive, and communicative problem solver with a self-driven approach to work.
• A professional developer eager to join and maintain a supportive team and  
  workplace environment free from discrimination.

Responsibilities:

• Work in a cross-functional team of artists, designers, engineers, and others through all stages of development to implement sections of game environments.
• Directly own the level design of Points of Interest within large maps and other areas as assigned.
• Iterate on layout to achieve excellent game feel, ensuring quality and consistency from conception to delivery.
• Actively participate in project peer playtests, seeking feedback on your own work and providing it for others.
• Collaborate across teams – work closely with Art, Engineering, and Production and advocate for the environment's design.

A Typical Day May Include:

• Attend a cross-discipline stand-up with other developers
• Estimate effort for change requests or bug fixes, actively assist in sprint planning
• Gameplay planning or critique with other designers
• Grayboxing, iteration, and polish of your owned maps and areas of the world
• Discuss ideas, improvements, or issues with other designers, engineers, and artists
• A studio-wide play test 

Qualifications:

• 5-8 years' experience as a game level designer, working with current engines and tools.
• High knowledge of level design fundamentals, constraints, and principles.
• Experience with closed and open/large layouts, including gameplay and technical requirements.
• Strong knowledge of shooters, both PVP and PVE.
• Experience shipping AAA games
• Experience building both large and small environments and games
• Experience in UE4/5.
• A track record of effective and proactive work in a remote environment is required for a remote hire.
