Job Summary: 

Performs duties to set up and operate cutting and chamfering machines to produce tubular parts. Receives direction from Shift Supervisor/Department Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Sets up, installs, and adjusts tools, collets, clamps, targets, etc. for product size, desired length and end finish, and other required characteristics.
2. Operates controls of various machines to produce tubular parts.
3. Inspects parts to verify product conforms to work order/specification requirements, including but not limited to these characteristics: size, wall thickness, length, end finish, and surface quality.
4. Segregates discrepant material from prime product. Performs minor tooling maintenance as necessary.
5. Checks bundle tag to verify tubing being delivered to the machine coincides with order requirements.
6. Accurately and legibly completes product tags, production records, and inspection reports.
7. Refers concerns about tubing quality or equipment condition to Shift Supervisor/Department Manager.
8. Uses micrometers, calipers, chamfer check gages, length gages, and common hand tools.
9. Communicates with employees of other shifts regarding status of operations, equipment, tooling, special assignments, etc.
10. Assists Maintenance Repairman in repair of production machines. Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
11. Various other duties as directed by the Shift Supervisor/Department Manager.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements: 

Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Years of Experience: 2 years in a manufacturing environment
