CAREER OPPORTUNITY

PsyPhyCare, a subsidiary of Business Staffing of America, Inc., is currently seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner for a part-time contractual position. This opportunity involves collaborating with a federally supported client located in Grand Rapids, MI 49507

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, the Nurse Practitioner will be instrumental in delivering medical services on a weekly basis at a Wellness Center. The primary focus is to support students, ranging from 100 to over 300 individuals, in achieving and maintaining optimal health. These services will contribute to the Health and Wellness program, ensuring that students acquire essential health-related skills, knowledge, and attitudes that enhance their employability.

HOURS:

The position requires a commitment of 9 hours per week. Operating hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with weekends off. The schedule is designed to be open and flexible to accommodate the needs of both the practitioner and the center.

This position will require a Collaborating Physician.

ROLES AND DUTIES:

  • Conduct a preliminary medical evaluation within 48 hours of a student's entry.
  • Perform an entrance physical examination within 14 days of entry.
  • Administer required entry laboratory studies, including hemoglobin or hematocrit, pregnancy tests (for all females), Pap smears (for females > 21 years), chlamydia and gonorrhea testing, HIV testing, and urine drug screens.
  • Administer immunizations, including boosters for incomplete series, hepatitis B vaccine for health occupations training students, and Tuberculin skin tests (Mantoux).
  • Conduct vision and hearing screenings.
  • Facilitate referrals to off-center physician services for specialized assessments as needed.
  • Coordinate prescription services in collaboration with the Center Mental Health Consultant.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be licensed with the state of Michigan
  • Possess malpractice/professional liability insurance and general liability insurance.
  • Hold a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number.
