Psychotherapeutic Services is looking for positive, compassionate, hard-working, dedicated employees to provide Direct Care Services to work in a Day Program setting to assist persons with chronic mental illness to live independently in the community.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Community Living Specialist is in constant face-to-face contact with persons diagnosed as chronically mentally ill. Services and work assignments are primarily in a Facility based setting but could provide coverage for other staff and programs requiring travel to their homes in the community. The Community Living Specialist’s goal is to increase the persons’ capacity for independent community living, through medication management, support, rapport, role-modeling, teaching, and the provision of activities and learning experiences. The Community Living Specialist consistently exercises discretion and sound judgment in the performance of the duties of the position.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED; plus one (1) adult mental health experience required. 
• Preferred - Associate Degree (Certificated Nursing Assistance (CNA), Medical Technicians (Med Tech.) /or related certified professional. 
• College degree may replace experience requirement.
