Job Summary

At this time only current PSEG employees are being considered.

This position will act as lead contributor to PSE&G’s financial planning, analysis and reporting processes. This position will be the lead support for a specific line of business. Areas of responsibility include leading the creation and maintenance of the annual cost plan (O&M and capital). Support month end closing activities including journal entries, variance analysis and ad-hoc analysis and reporting. Create and maintain SAP standing orders. Identify and perform analysis of major O&M and capital drivers and cost saving opportunities for clients. Provide integrated financial and operating information such as goal performance, resource allocation and optimization to provide value to the business planning process on a continual basis. Will lead a group in responding to all regulatory requests. Will lead major storm support and mutual aid processes. The group works collaboratively with its Utility clients, other areas of Utility Finance and Accounting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead annual cost plan in SAP focused on O&M and Capital costs including coordination of the major assumptions between all Utility lines of business and ensure alignment with the overall strategy.
  • Support month end, quarter end and year-end closing processes. Can include creating and maintaining journal entries, conducting actual vs plan variance analysis, creating ad hoc analysis.
  • Coordinating the 10 Year Capital Plan updates.
  • Work with Accounting to ensure all entries are accurately recorded and reflected in monthly results.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of all standing and planning orders in SAP to ensure accounting integrity.
  • Prepare/analyze key metrics impacting performance.
  • Support the preparation and presentation of the annual business plan for senior management approval.
  • Prepare reports or analysis specifically requested by the client providing value added insights to assist in the decision-making process.
  • Communicate or present findings to all levels.
  • Prepare reports supporting regulatory filings.
  • Lead major storm and mutual aid accounting and reporting.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or a related field with at least 8 years of relevant finance or accounting experience . In lieu of degree, 12 years of relevant finance or accounting experience
  • Superior planning and organizing skills.
  • Strong analytical, business and communication skills.Strong management presence and inclusive leadership style.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • In depth understanding of financial statements and ability to link operational activities to impacts on the financial statements.
  • Must foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity. Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices.

Desired:

  • In depth knowledge of the Utility industry
  • Experience with Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Proficient database management.
