Human Resources Generalist/Ass't to CEO

A 25-person privately held client in Rockland County, founded in 2008, who is a sustainable technology company involved in inventing and developing technologies to produce cost-effective, renewable energy is working with us to find an HR Generalist/Office Manager.

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 commensurate with experience

Job Type: Full Time - On site

Summary

The Human Resource (HR) Generalist is responsible for supporting the overall HR operation while supporting the CEO with running the office, including administrative support. This role is responsible for daily HR functions, which include recruiting; administering payroll, benefits, and leave; and enforcing company policies and practices. This role will also have some bookkeeping responsibilities, and work as an executive assistant to the CEO.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a passion for enhancing the employee experience.

Experience Required:

 Serve as a resource for general HR information, responding to management and employee questions

 Open to developing HR knowledge (terminology and practices) through professional reading, networking, and formal education

 Prior experience recruiting technical professionals in such disciplines as chemical, biochemical engineering, and manufacturing

 Knowledge of and skilled in researching and utilizing social media, jobsites, and developing content for hiring success; recruiting and applicant tracking; ensuring regulatory compliance

 Conduct new employee orientation and integration, answering questions and providing follow-up, to ensure successful completion of paperwork and mandatory training

 Familiar with payroll software, vacation and sick time tracking; and overall compliance with applicable labor laws

 Ability to manage multiple calendars, CEO travel arrangements and administrative support as needed

 Ability to forge relations and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and externally while maintaining confidentiality

Skills and Knowledge Required

 Bachelor’s degree and at least four years of relevant professional-level experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in HR with recruiting experience

 Familiarity and keeping current with state labor laws and new legal requirements

 Ability to work effectively advancing many projects simultaneously while respecting the confidential and sensitive nature inherent in human resources work

 Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written communication skills with organization and time management

 Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
