Provo Rehab & Nursing specializes in First Responder and Professional Wellness. Our clinical team has extensive experience assisting first responders, nurses, teachers, and medical personnel with PTSD, anxiety, cumulative stress, behavioral addictions, and substance abuse.
We understand how to apply the most effective and comprehensive treatments, and therapies, to help these individuals heal the invisible wounds brought on by the trauma of their profession.
As a Therapeutic Recreation Technician, you will assist in implementing recreational therapy programs designed to enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of individuals within the program.
Your primary responsibility will be to engage clients in meaningful recreational activities that promote physical fitness, cognitive stimulation, social interaction, and emotional expression;
along with timely planning, budget management, and clear interdepartmental communication.
Responsibilities :
Assessment and Planning : Conduct initial assessments of clients to determine their recreational interests, abilities, and therapeutic needs.
Collaborate with therapists and other team members to develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide encouragement, motivation, and assistance as needed to ensure maximum engagement and enjoyment.
Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate records of client progress, participation, and behavior during recreational therapy sessions.
Prepare reports and communicate regularly with the treatment team to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make adjustments as necessary.
Safety and Risk Management : Ensure the safety of clients during recreational activities by following established protocols and guidelines.
Monitor for any signs of distress or discomfort and respond promptly and appropriately.
Resource Management : Manage recreational equipment and supplies, ensuring they are properly maintained, organized, and accessible.
Assist in the procurement of new materials or resources as needed to support therapy programs.
