Position Summary

Under the direction of the Environmental Director, the Environmental Housekeeping Laundry Supervisor is responsible alongside the director for the daily operationsofthehousekeeping, laundry and environmentaldepartment,includingstaffing,supplyorderingandsupervision.The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.

Job Description

  • Attends all mandatory in-services by employee’s anniversary date 
  • Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in shift assignments to meet facility needs 
  • Supervises staff and assists with all aspects of cleaning and maintaining the facility interior and grounds; ensures residents; rooms are safe, comfortable, and maintained in an attractive manner and that residents’ personal items are safeguarded 
  • Trains, evaluates, counsels, and disciplines housekeeping personnel 
  • Assists in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection and termination of housekeeping personnel 
  • Ensures cleaning schedules are followed and coordinates daily housekeeping services with other departments 
  • Develops long range, short range and daily plans for the housekeeping service of the facility 
  • Maintains pertinent records, manages budgets and supplies, and functions as a working supervisor in all areas of responsibility as the department’s budgeted hours and workload 
  • Supervises housekeeping personnel and schedules adequate coverage. Assigns duties and evaluates work performance, as necessary 
  • Prepares requisitions for all necessary supplies and equipment and submits these to Administrator with an emphasis on inventory control

Qualifications

  • High School graduate 
  • Possesses strong experience in the ability to supervise others 
  • Must meet health assessment requirements, including two stage Mantoux skin test
