As a Providence caregiver, you’ll apply your specialized training to deliver world-class health with human connection and make a difference every day through your extraordinary care. Under supervision of the RN, assist in implementing the nursing process by making basic observations and collecting nursing data related to the physical, spiritual and psychosocial condition of assigned patients. In compliance with established policies and standards of care perform a variety of individual care and technical skills to provide timely and appropriate patient care. This work is carried out under the supervision of the RN. Identify changes in patient condition and refer to Registered Nurse in a timely fashion. Contribute to the development, implementation, or modification to the individualized patient plan of care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Work closely with patients to encourage them to actively participate in their care as appropriate to their state of health. Ensure that patient documentation and charting is accurate and timely. Follow established policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infection and to provide a safe and comfortable environment for staff, patients and others on the unit. Identify and communicate any safety hazards. Assist staff by maintaining equipment in proper working order. Follow established polices and procedures during emergency situations. Under direction of the Registered Nurse, provide education on routine topics to patients and families. Required qualifications: Graduate from an accredited school of Practical Nursing. Or equivalent educ/experience Upon completion of coursework from an approved RN education program and a completed commission approved PVR course Upon hire: Washington Licensed Practical Nurse Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association Preferred qualifications: 1 year Experience.
