Description

Under the general direction of the Director, the caregiver processes a variety of patient records to support the department's mission to secure and maintain accurate patient health information. Tasks include: Customer service both face to face and telephone or correspondence, document capture processing, health information report routing, release information (ROI), data abstracting and reporting to external entities, maintaining logs, and functions related to billing and collections for ROI. The Health Information Technician will relocate and transmit PHI per policy and maintain compliance with State and Federal regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree
• 2 years Customer support experience
• 2 years Experience working with personal desktop computers, printers
• 1 year Experience in Health Information Management or equivalent related health care setting
• Experience with electronic patient health systems.
