Providence Health & Services is Hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist Near Torrance, CA

Job Description
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, test result reporting, and clerical and patient care support services. The CLS provides service in one or more sections of the laboratory with a high level of accuracy, precision and timeliness and ensures compliance with departmental and regulatory agency standards. Service is provided to patients of all age groups: premature infants, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young, middle and older adults. Non-technical duties include taking supply inventories, stocking supplies, cleaning and maintaining work area, equipment and instrumentation. The CLS provides service in a safe and professional manner and works within the established policies and procedures of the Laboratory and the Organization.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science
  • Upon hire: California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License California Or
  • Upon hire: California Clinical Chemist Scientist License Or
  • Upon hire: California Clinical Immunohematologist Scientist License Or
  • Upon hire: California Clinical Microbiologist Scientist License Or
  • Upon hire: California Clinical Toxicologist Scientist License Or
  • Upon hire: California Clinical Cytogeneticist Scientist License Or
  • Upon hire: California Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist License Or
  • Upon hire: California Clinical Hematology Scientist License Or
  • Upon hire: California Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist License Or
  • Upon hire: California Clinical Laboratory Scientist Biochemistry Special License
  • 1 year of experience in clinical laboratory in area of responsibility
  • 1 year - Must meet CLIA requirements for testing personnel, moderate to high complexity tests.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Upon hire: MT(ASCP) certification

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
