Proteus Protective Services is Hiring an Armed Security Officer (Orlando / I-Drive Area) Near Orlando, FL

Proteus Protective Services B-3200553 is hiring for an ARMED Security Officer in the I-Drive Orlando, FL area. This position will be for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 2100-0500 hours.

Before applying, understand the nature of our line of security. We are a respond and resolve agency that sometimes requires hands on. We deal with some of the most challenging properties in Jacksonville that may require use of force. We offer advanced training for our officers at Proteus Training Institute DS 3300039 including the D & G courses, law enforcement advanced tactics and open to the public for personal defense training. You'll get out what you invest in yourself. Free training... take advantage of it! Our focus is always to de-escalate and approach subjects with empathy but we must be ready for everything.

Summary of Duties

Candidate will be working at a economy motel handling everything from static patrols, evictions, noise complaints, disputes, vagrant issues, drug/sex trafficking identification, parking concerns, trespasses, as an example and interfacing with clients, guests and local law enforcement. The hours are Friday through Sunday 2100-0500 (24 hours). The pay rate is $18.75.

Additionally: answer and respond to calls needing public safety or security. Writing complex incident reports. Maintaining a high level of independence, initiative and interaction with the public. Responsible for reprimanding and detaining members of the public. Provide assistance to law enforcement agencies when needed. Able to make sound decisions in stressful situations. Solid understanding on situational awareness and de-escalation.

Additional information about the position:
* Responding to calls for service and emergency assistance
* Rendering aid to the physically injured
* Investigating safety hazards and taking action to correct potential problem areas
* Providing motorized, foot and bicycle patrol to residential and business areas
* Practicing problem solving techniques in support of the agencies problem solving strategies
* Operating agency marked vehicles in routine and emergency situations
* Participating in job-related training and courses to maintain skills, knowledge and abilities
* Acting without direct supervision and exercising independent discretion in meeting emergencies
* Detaining suspects, removing trespassers from property, physically and forcibly as needed.
* Using firearms and less lethal means of self-defense
* Customer service & Community engagement
* Being an “Ambassador” of the agency, to the community.

* Paid weekly, $18.75/hr.

Minimum Requirements: Florida State Licensed D, unarmed & G, Statewide Firearms Licenses, Drivers License with clean driving record (DMV Check for positions requiring use of company assets), reliable transportation, ability to stand, walk, run and go hands-on per agency SOP as needed. Ability to work required shifts including day, evening and overnight. Ability to work a rotating schedule. Available during holiday's and weekends. Must be flexible and willing to work multiple posts as needed to provide you with your hours based on business demands and changing contracts. Black Protective Tactical carrier with plates/soft armor and willingness to obtain identification patches (in white: Front - Proteus / Back - Proteus Protective Services) before deployment, your own duty-grade (approval from us a must) firearm (used to qualify for G), 2 pair of handcuffs, and minimum one less lethal. Navy Blue tactical pants and black tactical boots must be supplied by the candidate - we provide shirts. Smartphone with ability to download appropriate work related applications to be used in the field away from WIFI.

*Must pass DMV check of drivers license

*Preference given to EMT/P certified individuals

*Preference given to former Law Enforcement Officers

*Preference given to current/former Military

*Certifications in any or all of the following: Taser, OC Deployment, baton, handcuffing (must have current certification or be willing to get certified to carry)

*Willingness to attend continuing education / training provided free of charge by the Agency.

Training

We will provide training to help you meet the standards of Proteus Protective Services. You will receive on-going training in incident preparation including active shooter, room clearing, handcuff use, de-escalation techniques, situational awareness, working in tandem with a partner, incident command and so much more, during in-house training sessions, through our partner training agency, Proteus Training Institute DS3300039. Some training is mandatory (paid) and some is for your own growth handled during your off-time, but free to our officers other than range fees and ammo. You need to invest in yourself to advance yourself! Preparation is key in all that we do!
