We know that it's our people that make the difference and we are deeply committed to building a workplace and global community where inclusion is not only valued, but prioritized, providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and team members.The primary purpose of the Safety Manager is to provide leadership and direction to assure that the assigned location and employee populations are knowledgeable and compliant in the applicable areas of Environmental Health & Safety.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible to implement and sustain Safety Pillar within Cornerstone Production SystemDrives safety risk assessment and works with cross functional teams to attack and reduce risksOwns Behavioral Based Observations and Walk and Talk programs focused on improving behaviors across the manufacturing facilityInspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks; works with operations and maintenance to drive root cause analysis and corrective actionsDevelops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections and incorporates these into his Leader Standard WorkDevelops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topicsMonitors compliance with safety procedures and OSHA regulationsDrafts inspection reports to document inspection findingsEnsures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when neededMaintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as requiredConduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident preventionAssess, develop, and implement required OSHA Corrective Actions. Build value by driving greater efficiency and standardization in the deployment of EH&S resources, procedures, programs, and implements controls to manage business risks consistent with companys expectationsPerforms other related duties as assignedQualifications Bachelors degree in EHS or related Science field is required. Masters Degree in EHS or related Science field is preferred.Minimum 3years experience in EHS functionwithin a Manufacturing, Facilities Management and/or Research Laboratory setting with direct responsibility for EHS activity and experience with Regulatory Agency interactions (inspections, official written response, arbitration, etc.)Required 2 or more years experience ofleadership responsibility (organizational and/or direct reports)Preference for applicable EHS related professional certifications (ASP, CSP, IHIT, CIH, CHMM, etc.)Thorough understanding of EHS science; analytical and problem-solving skills; strong communication skills (speaking and listening). Working knowledge of EHS regulation with strong understanding of OSHA and EPA lawsBasic management skills to include formalized methodologies (goal setting, performance tracking, etc.)Strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong business acumen.Experience with leadership positions and ability to manage complex operations and projects.Incumbent will be required to adequately function with basic software programs (Windows, MS Office, etc.)Works with minimal direct supervision at all times based upon the incumbents experience, judgment and understanding of regulatory requirementsmanagement systems and site objectives.
