Security Officers Make a Difference

We’re hiring reliable, experienced, Security Officers for a Premiere NYC Healthcare Facility! The person in this position will maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees and property, maintaining access control in assigned areas and responds to emergency situations.

$19.50 Hourly Starting Wages

Shifts include:

• Full Time / Part Time
• Days, Afternoons, Overnights
• Weekend Availability is a must

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security/safety of the hospital.
• Circulate among visitors, patients, and employees to preserve order and protect property
• Guard, patrol, and monitor the hospital premises to prevent safety hazards, theft, violence, or infractions of rules
• Enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance
• Escort on foot or by motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations or to provide personal protection or to escort persons off customer property
• Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports (DARs)
• Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors, including intoxicated and emotionally disturbed individuals, in a courteous and professional manner
• Monitor for irregular or unusual activity
• Secure facility and designated areas
• Enforce facility and company policies and procedures
• Investigate and prepare reports on incidents
• Follow all directives given by Sergeant and/or Manager

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be 21 years or older
• Must have a valid NYS Security Guard License
• Must have minimum of two (2) years of experience as a security officer- hospital or related medical setting is perferred
• Must have open availability to work all shifts and schedules including weekends
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have good communications skills
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods
• Must be able to walk/run flights of stairs on a daily basis.
• Ability to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods
• Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and uphold ethical behavior"
• Must be able to successfully pass a series of medical clearances including a physical as manadated by the NYC Heath Dept.
• Must be able and willing to assist medical staff in restraining patients as needed upon request.
