Role Overview:

The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) will work closely with our customers to identify problems, deploy, integrate and optimize our software, and develop solutions in an agile environment. The FDE will collaborate with other engineers and external stakeholders to build technology that supports governments and underserved residents. You will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to ensure successful implementation of our products in complex and diverse environments. This is a customer-facing role that requires excellent communication skills, the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, and a passion for delivering innovative solutions.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and implement product-based solutions to customer problems
• Leverage and grow the product to ensure current and future customer success
• Integrate government IT systems with Promise’s data and payments solution
• Discuss complex ideas with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Work in a customer-facing role
• Write and iterate on technical solutions with customers
• Code proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Python
• Familiarity with real world data in relational or document databases
• Understand cloud-based services and work with APIs
• Comfortable with Linux and command line utilities / scripting

• Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
• Are proficient in at least one of JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python, or another modern programming language
• Have experience working in a customer-facing role
