ProMedica is Hiring a Senior Radiology Technologist - Nuclear Medicine - Full Time - Days Near Toledo, OH

ProMedica Toledo Hospital is one of the largest acute-care facilities in the region. Under general direction, oversees the daily work performed in his/her respective area of the Department of Radiology & Diagnostic Imaging.

ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  1. Assists and advises technologists in the performance of radiologic/imaging procedures and ensures proficiency of staff.
  2. Confers with radiologists and manager on procedural and/or policy changes. Relays this information to staff.
  3. Performs qualitative checks on equipment and procedures. Works to improve the diagnostic quality of the examinations. Coordinates service and preventative maintenance.
  4. Participates in the orientation and in-service programs relating to the imaging area of responsibility.
  5. Participates in the evaluation of new equipment and products.
  6. Ensures compliance of all regulatory requirements. Maintains confidentiality of all patient data.
  7. Follows organization’s mission and values of customer service. Continuously works at providing a positive work environment reflective of high employee satisfaction. 
  8. Demonstrates competency in using the radiology information and imaging systems (HIS, RIS, PACS, etc.) for the purpose of correctly ordering exams, supplies and other data input
  9. Functions as a staff technologist, including on-call.
  10. Demonstrates high levels of care, courtesy and cooperation. Educates patients about their procedure and ensures patients and their families’ safety, comfort and needs are appropriately addressed in a dignified, confidential manner.
  11. Demonstrates awareness of safety standards for self and assigned area. Contributes and participates on daily Safety call.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education: Associate’s Degree (or equivalent to become A.R.R.T registered)

  1. Must be a graduate of an AMA-approved radiologic technology program or related field.
  2. Must meet licensure and registration requirements for staff technologists for his/her respective area(s).
  3. Must be CPR Certified.
  4. Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a technologist preferred. 
  5. Must be able to cope with stressful situations and handle deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced medical environment. 
  6. Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills.
  7. Must be able to move about the facility and between workstations and to handle stooping, standing, walking and lifting as required by the position
  8. Must be competent in use of facility communication systems and equipment (e.g. phones, fax machines, IBEX).
  9. Must be able to input and retrieve information from radiological or other medical equipment and computerized systems.
  10. Must be able to tolerate possible exposure to radiation and electrical hazards, and blood borne pathogens or bodily fluids; must be able to tolerate wearing heavy protective garments for extended periods of time.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Personal Protective Equipment: May be required to wear mask, gloves, or gown. Possible exposure to infectious and contagious disease, chemicals, toxic substances, and bloodborne pathogens from blood and/or bodily fluids

Physical Demands: Must be able to see, hear, and move intermittently, or use prosthetics that will enable you to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Must be able to move about the facility and between workstations, standing, walking and lifting as required by position. May require irregular hours and will result in occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Must be able to tolerate possible exposure to radiation and electrical hazards, blood borne pathogens or bodily fluids. Must be able to tolerate wearing heavy protective garments for extended periods of time.
