ProMach Careers is Hiring a Plastics Operator Near Charlotte, NC

Our manufacturing team specializes in supporting the lifecycle of our machines and products. Our team is dedicated to consistency, fit, finish, machine integrity, and manufacturing excellence.

Our Roberts PolyPro division is looking for an Extrusion Set-up Technician for their Charlotte, NC location.

Does this work interest you?

  • Set up and operate extruding machines to extrude plastic compound through a nozzle or die.
  • Set up punching dies and extrusion dies.
  • Troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to extrusion line.
  • Monitor and inspect quality of finished goods, which includes the ability to detect and diagnose surface defects of product, die lines, blemishes, color variations, etc.
  • Change dies on extruding machines according to production line change.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and finishing operations at the press.
  • Night shift: 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. 12 hours shifts with a rotation schedule and alternating weekends.
  • Overtime and weekends as needed.

  • High School/GED, technical certificate preferred. 
  • Two or more years of experience in a plastics extrusion environment.
  • Overall knowledge of tools, instruments, standard test equipment and plant processes.
  • Excellent communication with strong leadership skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds to move shipments to hand truck.
  • Ability to partner with employees and work as a team.
  • Valid training certificate to operate fork truck preferred, training is provided.
  • Ability to sample new tools and communicate with Engineering, Tooling, and Quality personnel to assure objectives are achieved.
  • Ability to document all processes related to the molding of a part that is repeatable and understandable.
