Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) is seeking self-motivated and experienced Labor Relations professionals who are problem solvers, critical thinkers, flexible, tactful and use good judgment as they communicate effectively among all level within the organization. This is an Emergency Appointment opportunity, with strong potential to be a permanent appointment.
The position is an integral part of LAWA's Labor Relations Team, including matters of MOU interpretation, and Department policies and procedures, grievances, and unfair labor practices. Also assists with discipline investigations; determines appropriate disciplinary action, prepares staff reports and recommendations to appointing authorities; develops LAWA's defenses in disciplinary appeal hearings.

This is an Emergency Appointment opportunity. If you meet the minimum requirements of the Civil Service Classification you are nominated for (Airport Labor Relations Advocate I), in order to receive a regular civil service appointment, you must take and pass the examination conducted by the Personnel Department of the City of Los Angeles, and then be appointed to the classification.
To participate in any examination for the classification in which you are submitting a nomination for an emergency appointment, you will be required, and it will be your responsibility to apply for the examination when the examination is open for filing.
