Technical Advisor, Health Systems Strengthening/Human Capacity Development, Global Health

POSITION SUMMARY:
Project HOPE leads and implements global health programs in international health and humanitarian assistance as well as domestic public health issues in the United States. Project HOPE prides itself in ensuring that every project allowed to implement has a parallel system for monitoring and evaluating. It also improves the programming by adapting findings during the implementation process to improve indicators to achieve the program’s goals. Additionally, Project HOPE believes in the need to document program progress, account for the impact of intervention provided during program implementation, document and address the underperformance of programs, and be very innovative as an international NGO in our implementation and reporting to donors.
The Project HOPE mission is to place power in the hands of local healthcare workers to save lives across the globe. Project HOPE Twinning Center Program creates peer-to-peer relationships between organizations working to improve health services for areas such as MNCH, emerging Diseases, Mental Health, and NCDs.
These twinning partnerships build sustainable institutional and human-resource capacity to strengthen health systems by establishing a practical framework for exchanging knowledge, information, and professional experience. Currently, the Project HOPE Twinning Center manages partnerships and initiatives on Maternal and Child Health, Emerging diseases, and Neonatal Nursing based in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Health Officer, the advisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing programmatic and new business strategies and interfacing with project funding sources, national ministries of health, “north” and “south” institutional sub-grantees, and representatives from other constituencies with which the project collaborates and coordinates.
As a member of the technical unit, the advisor plays a significant leadership role in the development and implementation of global health system-strengthening strategies, human capacity development and overall twinning methodology. The advisor will coordinate with program staff in the Washington, DC, headquarters, and country field offices.

Salary range starting at $95,000 USD per year. Compensation for the role is dependent on several factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
